Partners in the Gospel - One Parish Plan

A central part of Partners in the Gospel is the re-envisioning and restructuring of parish life for mission. This vision will come to life through a strategic pastoral plan for the parish family, which sets the course for how a parish family will become one canonical parish, but more importantly, how it will carry out the mission of the Church.

The One Parish Plan will serve as the strategic pastoral planning tool guiding how the parish family will become one canonical parish. It outlines the key questions to determine the current state of the parish family and to begin building towards a new reality with a shared vision and the required restructuring of resources to achieve the vision. The One Parish Planning document also provides guidance (including forms and worksheets) needed to complete each stage in the process.

The One Parish Plan process focuses on four key questions, each with its own guidance section, suggested timeline and resources needed for completion. The questions are: 

• Who are we? This question will help develop an understanding of, and an appreciation for, the history, the people, the gifts, and the ministries that have been central to parish life. This question will also help the community explore the opportunities and challenges present in the parish family today.
• Who do we want to become? This question will identify who the parish family is today, what the parish family is doing well, how the parish family will respond to the opportunities and challenges identified, and how the Holy Spirit is calling the parishioners to serve as missionary disciples. Together the parish family, through consultations, will prayerfully listen to how the Holy Spirit is calling the parish family to live out the call of Matthew 28.
• How do we get there? This question aims to take the insights about who the parish family wants to become and turn them into specific goals and initiatives for the new canonical parish. This question will also help determine resource needs, timing, anticipated outcomes and accountability for implementation of the plan.
• What should we be called? This question will ask the community to determine a new name for the new canonical parish reflective of who the parish family is today and who the parish family wants to become when it is formed into one canonical parish.

In starting with the first question, Who are we?, we are asking parishioners at both Holy Trinity and Our Lady Star of the Sea to complete a survey. The survey can be completed electronically by clicking the link above or in paper form (which can be found in the main entrance to the church). We are asking that all surveys be returned no later than Sunday, February 1st.

Compañeros en el Evangelio - Plan de Parroquia Única

Una parte central de Compañeros en el Evangelio es la visión renovada y la reestructuración de la vida parroquial para la misión. Esta visión cobrará vida a través de un plan pastoral estratégico para la familia parroquial, que marca el rumbo para que una familia parroquial se convierta en una sola parroquia canónica y, lo más importante, define cómo llevará a cabo la misión de la Iglesia.

El Plan de Parroquia Única servirá como la herramienta de planificación pastoral estratégica que guiará el proceso para que la familia parroquial se convierta en una sola parroquia canónica. Este plan describe las preguntas clave para determinar el estado actual de la familia parroquial y comenzar a construir hacia una nueva realidad con una visión compartida y la reestructuración de recursos necesaria para alcanzar dicha visión. El documento del Plan de Parroquia Única también proporciona la orientación necesaria, incluyendo formularios y hojas de trabajo, para completar cada etapa del proceso.

Las cuatro preguntas clave

El proceso del Plan de Parroquia Única se centra en cuatro preguntas fundamentales, cada una con su propia sección de orientación, cronograma sugerido y recursos necesarios:

1. ¿Quiénes somos? Esta pregunta ayudará a desarrollar una comprensión y un aprecio por la historia, las personas, los dones y los ministerios que han sido centrales en la vida parroquial. También ayudará a la comunidad a explorar las oportunidades y los desafíos presentes hoy en la familia parroquial.
2. ¿En quiénes nos queremos convertir? Esta pregunta identificará quién es la familia parroquial hoy, qué está haciendo bien, cómo responderá a las oportunidades y desafíos identificados, y cómo el Espíritu Santo está llamando a los feligreses a servir como discípulos misioneros. Juntos, a través de consultas, la familia parroquial escuchará en oración cómo el Espíritu Santo los llama a vivir el mandato de Mateo 28.
3. ¿Cómo llegamos allí? El objetivo de esta pregunta es tomar las reflexiones sobre en quién se quiere convertir la familia parroquial y transformarlas en metas e iniciativas específicas para la nueva parroquia canónica. También ayudará a determinar las necesidades de recursos, los tiempos, los resultados previstos y la responsabilidad para la implementación del plan.
4. ¿Cómo deberíamos llamarnos? Esta pregunta pedirá a la comunidad que determine un nuevo nombre para la nueva parroquia canónica que refleje quién es la familia parroquial hoy y en quién desea convertirse al formarse como una sola parroquia.

Su participación

Al comenzar con la primera pregunta, ¿Quiénes somos?, solicitamos a los feligreses tanto de Holy Trinity como de Our Lady Star of the Sea que completen una encuesta.
